Wake Forest University offers Wake Perks, a variety of free and discounted experiences and services, to faculty and staff.
Athletics
Welcome to Deactown! Faculty and staff have access to a 20% discount on football and men’s basketball tickets. Women’s basketball, baseball, and soccer are free with your Deacon OneCard. All other sporting events are free to the community.
Deacon Shop
Show your Deacon pride with gear from the Deacon Shop. Faculty and staff are eligible for a 20% discount on purchases of Wake Forest logo merchandise made in-person at the Reynolda Campus Deacon Shop or bookstore, both located on Hearn Plaza.
Face to Face
The Face to Face Speaker Forum brings world-class speakers to Winston-Salem on an annual basis. Tickets to keynote address events are available to faculty and staff for free on a first come first served basis at the ticket office on the day of the event.
Free Flu Shots
Each fall, the University offers free on-campus and drive-through flu shot clinics for all faculty, staff, and retirees. Spouses and dependent children (8 years and older), who are enrolled in the University’s medical plan are also eligible.
HELPS Programs
The Wake Forest Healthy Exercise and Lifestyle ProgramS (HELPS) offers both a 12-week “Therapeutic Lifestyle Change” program and a six-month “Healthy Weight for You” program. Available for free to all full-time, permanent faculty and staff.
LinkedIn Learning
Faculty, staff, and students can access course content available on LinkedIn Learning using their WFU email credentials. Connect your existing LinkedIn profile with your LinkedIn Learning account to highlight trainings and certifications on your profile.
Meal Plans
Use your meal plan at the all-you-care to eat dining halls: The Hilltop Market on the second floor of the North Dining Hall, The Pit in the lowest level of Reynolda Hall, or the Magnolia Room on the second floor of Reynolda Hall.
MindfulWake
MindfulWake is a free program for faculty, staff, and students that promotes wellbeing using mindfulness and meditation. Offerings including courses and retreats, drop-in meditations, and personal coaching.
Nutrition Services
The Office of Wellbeing can help connect you a nutrition counseling services, such as a registered dietitian, to help you meet your personal nutrition goals. Services are free for benefits-enrolled faculty and staff.
Retirement Planning
TIAA, the University’s retirement service administrator, offers free one-on-one retirement planning advice sessions and topical webinars, available to all faculty and staff.
Reynolda House
& Gardens
Wake Forest University faculty, staff, and students with a valid Deacon OneCard and one guest are free to Reynolda House Museum of American Art and Reynolda Garden lectures.
Sustainable Transportation
There are a variety of sustainable transportation options and resources available on campus and in the Winston-Salem community that help minimize the need for individual transportation.
Summer Programs
This immersive, week-long experience for high school students is designed to provide an introduction to college life and the opportunity to explore a potential career pathway or field of study. Faculty and staff are eligible for a $550 tuition discount per child.
Wake the Arts
Wake the Arts is a movement to infuse the arts into every aspect of the Wake Forest experience. Most theatre, dance, and music performances – including the Secrest Artist Series – and art galleries are free for faculty and staff to attend.
WakerSpace
The community makerspace for Wake Forest University, faculty and staff have access to a variety of unique tools and equipment, including 3D printers and laser cutters, to create personal or professional projects with the help of WakerSpace staff.
Wellbeing Center Memberships
This state-of-the-art Wellbeing Center featuring an indoor pool, cardio and weight equipment, climbing and bouldering wall, and more. Benefits-eligible faculty, staff and retirees have access to the wellbeing center for no cost. Memberships are available for purchase.
Wellbeing Coaching
The Office of Wellbeing offers free wellbeing coaching to faculty and staff on the Reynolda campus. Clients work one-on-one with a certified coach to identify their individual health and wellbeing goals, and then co-create a plan to achieve those goals and make them stick.
ZSR Library Resources
Z. Smith. Reynolds Library provides common library services in addition to the featured resources available to all faculty and staff, such as material reserves, educational workshops, institutional access behind paywalled resources, streaming services and DVD rentals.
