Supporting the people who make WFU thrive begins with supporting their families. Wake Forest is proud to provide on-site childcare for faculty, staff, students, and campus affiliates who work full-time at a University site, along with neighbors in the Winston-Salem community.

KinderCare at Wake Forest University provides premier care for children from infancy through Pre-K. Enrollment is open to the public, and the center invites families from across Winston-Salem to apply. To support the campus community, tuition discounts and enrollment priority are available for WFU faculty, staff, students, and full-time on-site affiliates.

“Having on-site access to childcare has been transformative for working families at WFU. We’re proud to serve our Wake Forest and Winston-Salem communities by delivering care that prioritizes the cognitive, physical, and emotional growth of every child. And, now we also accept N.C. DHHS childcare vouchers.”

Malika Roman Isler, Associate Vice President for Employee Experience, Human Resources

Wake Forest partners with KinderCare Learning Companies, a national leader with more than 50 years of experience, to provide this premier care on campus at the University Corporate Center (1100 Reynolds Blvd.). The center holds a 5-star N.C. quality rating and earned an impressive 4.36 out of 5 for parent satisfaction in a recent family engagement survey. This reflects national benchmarks from the KinderCare Parent Confidence Index, a study conducted with The Harris Poll that identifies high-quality care as a primary driver of family well-being.

This partnership underscores a University-wide commitment to supporting working families. The center also accepts N.C. DHHS childcare vouchers. The N.C. Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) reports that more than 25 percent of North Carolina’s 2,717 childcare centers closed between 2016 and 2021. Born from decades of faculty and staff advocacy, WFU’s center opened in Fall 2024 to provide Winston-Salem caregivers with much-needed access to high-quality childcare.

KinderCare’s research-based curriculum provides a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. The center is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To begin the enrollment process, visit the website or call 336.666.5620.
