KinderCare at Wake Forest University
Wake Forest University has partnered with KinderCare Learning Companies for Employers to establish a third-party operated child care and early education center at the University Corporate Center. The center is now open with priority enrollment for Wake Forest faculty, staff, and students and affiliate employees who work full-time at a Wake Forest property.
KinderCare has more than 50 years of experience providing early childhood care and education and has the most nationally-accredited early learning centers of any private provider in the country. KinderCare also has experience partnering with higher education institutions to provide employer-sponsored child care and early education opportunities.
KinderCare at Wake Forest University provides infant through pre-k care. Effective March 20, 2025, the center achieved 5-Star NC quality-rated licensure and will apply for National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation once eligible.

Priority Enrollment Groups & Tuition
As an employer-sponsored child care facility, Wake Forest University faculty, staff, and students on the Primary Campus (which includes Wake Downtown and Graylyn) receive priority enrollment and tuition rates. You must be logged into your WFU email to view the tuition document. The chart below outlines additional enrollment groups in order of waitlist priority.

The total capacity is 120 children, ages 6 weeks through 5 years old.
KinderCare has the most nationally-accredited early learning centers of any private provider in the country and is dedicated to achieving 100 percent accreditation.
Effective March 20, 2025, the center achieved NC 5-Star quality-rated license and will apply for accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) once eligible.
An NC 5-Star rating is achieved by earning points for meeting high-quality program and education standards.
NAEYC accreditation promotes “a shared understanding and commitment to quality” among educators and “helps families recognize quality early learning programs and feel comfortable knowing that their children are receiving a high-quality, research-based education.” Programs must meet standards in: relationships with children, curriculum, teaching approaches, child assessment, nutrition and health, staff qualifications, relationship with children’s families, relationship with the community, physical environment, and program leadership and management.
Teachers undergo multiple safety trainings throughout the year to ensure they’re using KinderCare best practices as well as following all state requirements for child care teachers. Families can learn more about KinderCare’s health and safety protocols on kindercare.com.
In addition to the daily in-person conversations teachers and families share, families also receive updates and photos of their child throughout the day on the KinderCare App. The app also has a messaging feature so families can send a note directly to their child’s teacher or to the center management team.

- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Memorial Day
- Juneteenth
- Independence Day
- Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
The center will be open on Labor Day.
The center will be closed to families on the following days for teacher training:

Yes; $150 registration fee is due at the time of enrollment to secure a spot on the waitlist. A registration fee refund may be granted if requested before, and up to four weeks after, the center opens.
Yes; if two or more children are enrolled, the family will receive 10% off the lowest tuition of one child.
Two snacks are provided. Families will send lunch with their child.

The Parent & Caregiver Affinity Resources Group and the Women’s Center have developed a Caregiving Network to help connect individuals who are looking for occasional child care with those who would like to provide that care.
