Professional development is an ongoing journey for everyone at Wake Forest. This month, connect with HR’s Learning and Development (HRLD) team to explore workshops designed to challenge you and build new skills. Accommodations can be made for all workshops; email hrld@wfu.edu to learn more.

Workshops for Supervisors

Refine your approach to delegation and feedback during March’s leadership training sessions, which are designed to provide the tools you need to make year-end reviews more meaningful and effective.

Supervisor Training Lunch and Learn — Coaching and Feedback | 12 to 1 p.m. on March 10, Reynolda 301

Great coaching is a year-round conversation, not a once-a-year event. When feedback happens in real time, it takes the guesswork out of performance and helps everyone stay aligned. Join HRLD for a high-level discussion on building a culture of ongoing support. Register in Workday.

Practical Tactics for Effective Delegation | 1:30 to 3 p.m. on March 17, Reynolda 301

It’s often tempting to think, “It’ll just be quicker if I do it myself.” But effective delegation is about more than offloading tasks, it’s about building your team’s potential and protecting your own bandwidth. Join HRLD to explore delegation strategies and walk away with a toolkit designed to work for your department’s specific needs.

Year-End Reviews — Make Them Matter | 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 18, Reynolda 301

Strengthen year-end reviews by focusing on more than just the form. This discussion explores timelines, performance ratings, and the art of meaningful conversation. Gain practical resources for consistent, year-round feedback and receive answers to specific performance management questions during the Q&A.

Workshops for Personal Growth

Everyone can benefit from the ResilientWake Workshop Series to develop their ability to face challenges. Strengthen your skills and meet new colleagues with this 3-week cohort workshop series.

ResilientWake Workshop Series | Tuesdays, beginning March 24, 11:30-1:00, ZSR Library 204

Resilience is the ability to face life’s challenges and changes with grace. While we often hear it called bouncing back or overcoming obstacles, resilience is really a range of skills you can sharpen with practice.

The ResilientWake Workshop Series is a unique opportunity for faculty and staff to develop resilience skills using a cohort model. Hosted by HRLD and the Office of Wellbeing, the series focuses on practical ways to weave these skills into everyday life.

Participants are asked to attend the full three-session series to build a consistent cohort experience. Sessions run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 24, April 7, and April 14. Beverages and light snacks will be provided. Visit this link to register.
