Learning and Development Launches New Website
HR’s Learning and Development team (HRLD), formerly the Professional Development Center, recently reintroduced itself to campus with a suite of refreshed webpages and expanded resources. Faculty and staff can look to HRLD as a primary partner in building a professional toolkit through every stage of their career.

This new digital space serves as a central hub for resources, webinars, and training, offering a streamlined way to connect with opportunities for professional growth and long-term success at WFU. Among these offerings are learning paths specifically designed to guide new employees and supervisors through their unique milestones.
“We’re eager to broaden the reach of these resources to help Deacs across campus build both professional competency and confidence,” says Bill Gentry, Director of Learning and Development. “Our focus remains on providing a mix of regular workshops alongside customized sessions and team-building exercises that align with the specific professional, team, and leadership development needs of the Wake Forest community.”
Teams now have the ability to request services like customized retreats, group development activities, and professionally led assessments directly through the AskDeac system. Most HRLD programs are provided at no cost to individuals or departments. A nominal cost applies only to cover the actual cost of specific professional assessments. This update improves access to these resources by simplifying the request process and making specialized support more readily available.
Kari Reece, Executive Director of Employee Relations and Learning and Development, notes that these updates reflect a deep commitment to the professional journey of all faculty and staff. They also highlight HR’s dedication to providing the WFU community with modern, intentional support for career advancement, she says. “These improvements are a testament to the hard work of the HRLD team, whose collective efforts have made these refined services a reality for the entire campus.”
