Safety and Well-being

Wake Forest University recognizes the need for its employees to work in an environment that is safe, secure and free of threats.  It is the responsibility of all employees to maintain this environment and report any incidences that violates or prohibits an appropriate workplace.  In recognition of this obligation, the University provides the following resources to assist its employees.

Security and Safety

The Wake Forest University Police Department is committed to providing a safe and secure educational and working environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. The Department provides and maintains quality police services through progressive training and ethical conduct

Wake Alert

    Wake Alert is the primary information source during a Wake Forest emergency. Wake Forest will quickly assess the situation, then begin alerting the campus and providing instructions and resource information. During these emergencies, do not call 911 or University Police for general information. Wake Alert will provide information as promptly as possible.

      Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

      The EHS Department is a part of Facilities and Campus Services and provides services for the following:

      • Accidents, Injuries, Asbestos, Mold, Storm Water, General Safety, BioSafety, Training –
      • Fire Life Safety, General Safety, Construction Safety
      • Environmental / Hazardous Waste Management, Air Quality, Water Quality
      • Environmental & Safety Inspections, Hazardous Waste Removal
      • Exposure Control Plan, Injuries, Hepatitis B, Training, Physicals

      Employee Assistance Program

      Wake Forest University provides professional assessment and referral services for employees with personal problems affecting their lives and thus their job performance. This assistance is made available to employees through the Employee Assistance Program, known as “Personal Assistance Network”.
