Medical and Prescription ID Cards

The following applies to less than 50 new enrollees; current plan participants may continue using their existing ID cards.

BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS) has informed Wake Forest that there may be a brief delay in new enrollees receiving medical and prescription ID cards at their home residences. Individuals can expect to receive their medical card by July 3 and their prescription card the week of July 10; this will not impact coverage. 

 

Confirming Coverage

Coverage may be verified, as follows, using Plan Number 009335:

  • Medical coverage: Providers may access BCBS online 24 hours a day, seven days a week to confirm coverage. Alternatively, individuals may call BCBS at 877-275-9787 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Individuals also may access a digital version of their ID card by downloading the Blue Connect Mobile app to an Apple or Android device.
  • Prescription coverage: The individual, provider, or pharmacy may call OptumRx at 844-265-1875 24 hours a day, seven days a week to confirm coverage.
