Wake Forest University commits to provide staff employees with meaningful feedback and annual performance reviews. These reviews are designed to capture how well employees achieve their established goals and/or perform job duties.
Performance evaluations and recognition are ongoing processes that contribute to positive communication, mutual respect, improved performance, individual growth, and career development.
The Staff Performance Review Program is designed so that staff employees:
- are aware of job expectations;
- receive timely feedback about their performance;
- receive opportunities for education, training, and career development; and
- receive recognition in an equitable manner.
The University is committed to providing staff employees with meaningful annual performance reviews. Performance reviews are designed to determine how well employees achieve their established goals and/or perform job duties.
An employee’s performance will be reviewed in a fair and reasonable manner.
Three-Month Performance Review (For New Employees, Promotions, and Transfers)
At the end of three months of employment, supervisors will meet with new employees to jointly discuss job performance and expectations. Complete this evaluation using the techniques of modeling, coaching, reinforcing, and providing feedback to sustain positive performance and improve marginal performance. This review will complete the introductory period, or can be extended for up to an additional three months, if necessary.
