Medical Insurance

To meet the diverse needs of our benefit eligible faculty and staff members and their dependents, Wake Forest offers two different medical plans; the Core plan and Value plan.  These plans are offered by BlueCross and BlueShield of North Carolina. Each plan also has Catalyst Rx prescription drug benefits and Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance mental health benefits.

Dental Insurance

Wake Forest has two different dental plans offered through ACS Benefit Services; the High plan and Low plan.  These plans provide different levels of coverage to meet the varying needs of our benefit eligible faculty and staff members and their dependents.

Vision Insurance

While Wake Forest’s medical plan provides coverage for annual eye exams, our Superior Vision vision plan provides coverage for vision products such as lenses, glasses, and contract lenses.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) allow you to set aside pre-tax money to pay for eligible expenses. Wake Forest offers two FSA plans: a Health Care FSA (for health, dental, and vision care expenses not covered by insurance) and a Dependent Care FSA (for reimbursement of day care expenses for eligible dependents both under age 13 and elderly dependents).
